Not to be confused with Asian Tempest, Persian Tempest is not Asiatic, but rather a Purple Stripe. It reached monster size in 2017 with the addition of cow manure, and I started seeing my college debt melt before my eyes. May prove to be the best production Purple Stripe, fighting Chesnok Red for the title. It keeps its clove count reasonable even at large sizes- 6 or 7 per, so you can make big slices of it in the kitchen. (2020 Update: Persian Tempest is one of the earliest to sprout this year, already up).
