With a leaf structure that makes it look like a Marbled Purple Stripe with low clove count, but the coloration of a Rocambole, its outer looks seem promising as a consistent bulb producer. Very high winter survival rate suggests that it's robust and disease-free.
Named for the compressions of carbon found in the rolling hills of Herkimer county, which people eagerly dig through mud and gravel for. You’ll be doing the same for these- they won’t polish quite to the same shine but will definitely have their own charm.
